"Slowing down together may be one of the most restorative forms of wellness we have." by Me

Modern life keeps many of us in a constant state of stress and stimulation.  Between work demands, screens, noise, traffic, deadlines, and emotional overload, the nervous system rarely has a chance to settle fully.  Human beings, however, were never designed to regulate entirely alone.  We are deeply social creatures, and our nervous systems constantly respond to the emotional state of the people around us.  This is known as co-regulation:  the calming and stabilizing effect that safe, connected human relationships can have on the body and mind.

Spending relaxed time with friends, family, and community can help lower stress levels, soften physical tension, improve mood, and create a greater sense of safety and connection.  In a busy world that often keeps people isolated and overstimulated, slowing down together may be one of the most restorative forms of wellness we have.  And when we incorporate body work in a group setting, we amplify that co-regulation, allowing our entire tribe to restore, balance, calm, and a sense of shared wellbing.
