          Modern life keeps many of us in a constant state of stress and stimulation.  Between work demands, screens, noise, traffic, deadlines, and emotional overload, the nervous system rarely has a chance to settle fully.  Human beings, however, were never designed to regulate entirely alone.  We are deeply social creatures, and our nervous systems constantly respond to the emotional state of the people around us.  This is known as co-regulation:  the calming and stabilizing effect that safe, connected human relationships can have on the body and mind.
         &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
